Quest Laboratories was formed in December 1998 with the merger of Quest Laboratory, Heal Laboratory and The Medical Laboratory. It was a subsidiary of the British Union Provident Association (BUPA) Health Care Asia until May 2005 when ‘The Gribbles Group’ under Healthscope Limited acquired Quest Laboratories from BUPA.

In Nov 2005, Gribbles Singapore merged with Quest Laboratories into one operation. Following a year later in Dec 2006, Quest Laboratories acquired DoctorsLab Diagnostics. With the merger of Quest Laboratories and DoctorsLab in June 2007, the new Quest Laboratories Pte Ltd is now the largest independent non-hospital based laboratory in Singapore, complemented by the strength of its sister network of laboratories in Australia, New Zealand and Malaysia. Quest core laboratory, situated at Starhub Green at 67 Ubi Ave 1, employs over 200 staff with 38 couriers visiting clinics on regular rounds to collect samples as well as distribute reports and consumables all over Singapore.

Its satellite laboratory, situated within the Paragon medical centre and right in the heart of Orchard Road, is strategically located to service the specialist clinics in that area.

Quest Laboratories was awarded the ISO 15189 accreditation from Singlas in August 2008 which made Quest Laboratories the first private medical laboratory in Singapore to attain the ISO 15189 accreditation. 2008 Achievement Of ISO 15189: 2007

Its counterpart in Malaysia, Gribbles Pathology (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, headquartered in Petaling Jaya, Klang Valley, is the first major private pathology laboratory in the region to attain the ISO/IEC 17025 (NATA*) certification and accreditation. The main reference lab has also gained the latest standard for medical laboratories ISO/IEC 15189.
