Quest Laboratories was formed in December 1998 with the merger of Quest Laboratory, Heal Laboratory and The Medical Laboratory. It was a subsidiary of the British Union Provident Association (BUPA) Health Care Asia until May 2005 when ‘The Gribbles Group’ under Healthscope Limited acquired Quest Laboratories from BUPA.

In Nov 2005, Gribbles Singapore merged with Quest Laboratories into one operation. Following a year later in Dec, 2006, Quest Laboratories acquired DoctorsLab Diagnostics. In June 2007, DoctorsLab was merged with Quest Laboratories into one operation at our main premise at Frontech Centre. As a result, the new Quest Laboratories Pte. Ltd. is now the largest independent non-hospital based laboratory in Singapore, complemented by the strength of its sister network of laboratories in Australia, New Zealand and Malaysia.

Our core laboratory situated at Frontech Center, 15 Jalan Kilang Barat, occupies the whole 5th floor and another unit at the ground level. Quest employs over 200 staff with over 38 couriers visiting clinics on regular rounds twice or three times a day to collect samples as well as distribute reports and consumables all over Singapore.

Our satellite laboratory situated inside the medical center at The Paragon right in the heart of Orchard Road is strategically located to service the specialist clinics in that area. We also have an in house laboratory at Thomson Medical Center, Singapore’s leading private dedicated Women’s and Children facility.

Our counterpart in Malaysia, Gribbles Pathology (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, headquartered in Petaling Jaya, Klang Valley, is the first major private pathology laboratory in the region to achieve ISO/IEC 17025 (NATA*) certification and accreditation. The main reference lab recently gained the latest standard for medical laboratories ISO/IEC 15189.

Quest Laboratories Pte Ltd has been awarded the ISO 15189 accreditation from Singlas effective August 15, 2008. That will make Quest Laboratories Pte Ltd the first and only private medical laboratory in Singapore to achieve the ISO 15189 accreditation at this stage. 2008 Achievement Of ISO 15189: 2007
